1. The AEG Ecosystem & Data Ownership
This policy covers the collaborative activities of Advanced Energy Group (AEG), its nonprofit arm The Carbon League, and the Advanced Energy Agency.
CRM Ownership: All personal data collected across our websites and events is managed within a centralized Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Copper) owned and maintained by Advanced Energy Group (AEG).
Shared Access: Authorized personnel from The Carbon League and Advanced Energy Agency access this system to coordinate fellowship programs, task forces, and collaborative projects.
2. Information We Collect & Why
We collect information to facilitate the transition to a clean energy future:
Stakeholders & Attendees: Name, title, company, email, and LinkedIn profile. We use this to track event attendance, manage regional Task Forces, and facilitate professional networking.
Sponsors: We track sponsorship history and professional points of contact to fulfill our contractual obligations and recognize support.
Fellows & Applicants: For The Carbon League, we collect resumes, transcripts, and references to evaluate and manage our Fellowship program.
Digital Interaction: We track how you interact with our websites (
aeg.teamandthecarbonleague.org) and our emails to ensure our content remains relevant to the industry.
3. How We Use Your Data
AEG serves as the primary steward of your data, using it to:
Facilitate Collaboration: Moving stakeholders from "Challenge" to "Solution" via 90-day sprints.
Communication: Sending newsletters, event invitations, and project updates from any of our three entities.
Reporting: Providing aggregated (non-identifying) data to sponsors or grantors regarding the impact of our programs.
4. Professional Transparency & Events
Our stakeholder-driven model relies on transparency:
Contact Sharing: We share attendee lists (Name, Title, Company, LinkedIn) with fellow participants to foster collaboration. You can manage your visibility via your Lu.ma profile or by emailing us.
Chatham House Rule: We protect the source of specific comments made during sessions to encourage candor, but the outcomes and collaborative concepts are shared to drive progress.
Media Consent: We capture professional media (photo/video/audio) at events for use in regional reports, social media, and promotional materials for all three entities.
5. Data Disclosure & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. Disclosure is limited to:
Service Providers: Our CRM (Copper), our event platform (Lu.ma), and our email/hosting providers.
Sponsors: We may share attendee lists with event sponsors as part of professional networking, provided you have not opted out.
Legal Obligations: If required by law or to protect the safety of our community.
6. Your Rights & Data Security
Access & Correction: You may request a copy of your record or update your professional details at any time.
Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): You may request that we delete your record from the AEG CRM.
